Parengarenga Incorporation launched a ‘best use of land’ initiative to improve productivity across their 5900-hectare farm in Northland in 2017. The Incorporation holds dear its values of respect of land, water and air and we called on Gordon to better understand the capability of our farmlands and the impact the traditional liming and fertilising program was achieving on our farm and local environment.After a significant analytical regime across the more effective farm areas, Gordon was able to direct us to a more cost-effective program to better enhance dry matter production and an improved MEJ. The resulting program was both effective in productivity terms but also in observing our requirements targeting zero eutrophication to waterways.
